WILLINGDON BECOMES NO COLD CALLING ZONE

Nigel Waterson Member of Parliament for Eastbourne joined John Pritchett, Chairman of the Willingdon and Jevington Parish Council and others for the launch of the Willingdon “No Cold Callers Zone” which took place at the Willingdon Library. John Pritchett thanked all those who had helped create the zone and especially Louise Baxter from Trading Standards.

Nigel said,” I am delighted that this is another area that has adopted the “No Cold Callers” scheme, I would also like to thank all those who have helped make it possible, it is now up to the residents of Willingdon to help enforce it. I would ask all residents to contact our P.C.S.O. Ritchie or Trading Standards should they see anyone breaking the code.

It is interesting that since a zone was put in at Wannock a year ago, 84% of residents feel safer that these unwanted callers are banned. I look forward to being at the launch of further zones in the Eastbourne Constituency in the future”.
