POST OFFICE THREAT RAISED IN PARLIAMENT

Eastbourne and Willingdon MP Nigel Waterson has tabled a Commons Motion attacking proposed post office closures in his constituency.

The full text is:

“That this House calls on Post Office Ltd. to reconsider the proposed closure of the Willingdon Village, Wannock, Marine Parade, Broadway and Etchingham Road post offices used by residents in the Eastbourne constituency; recognises that post offices are a vital part of the local communities which they serve and that such closures cause disproportionate hardship to older members of these communities; and that such closures cause inconvenience and difficulties to all those who regularly use these post offices.”

Nigel commented: “I am determined to resist all these closures in my constituency. We have seen too many local post offices close already. Enough is enough!”
